NiddArt Trail – Privacy Statement – May 2018
To comply with the requirements of the General Data Protection Rules (GDPR) the organisers have to state the reasons for recording participants’ personal data and obtain consent for its recording and use.
In order to run the NiddArt Trail, the organisers need to record a participant’s name, means of communication (at least one) and appropriate images to identify businesses, premises, artists and craftspeople, and their artworks and craftwork. The data and images are provided by participants and by our photographers. Business and personal data is entered into computer records held by the organisers and used by committee members.
Personal data is used to communicate with participants and used, where appropriate, in publicity material distributed to libraries, tourist information, holiday parks, newspapers, magazines and retail outlets around the local area. Posts are also made in the website blog page and on Facebook.
Participants will be asked for consent for their names and attributed works, where appropriate, to appear in the publicity material, the NiddArt Trail website and in Facebook entries.
A participant may later withdraw consent and request withdrawal of images from the NiddArt Trail website or from Facebook.
Sharing of personal data
The organisers will not share personal data with others without the consent of the participant, except as required by law or for a vital need.
Protection of personal data
The participants will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that member data is not lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed.
Participants' rights regarding their personal data
Participants have a right to request access to, rectification or erasure of personal data held. Participants are not obliged to disclose personal data, however, this may affect the ability of the organisers to publicise the participant. The data contact is the chairman.
Retention of data
Data will be retained after the end of the annual art trail on the website and in the records in order to invite participants to take part in future art trails, unless requested otherwise by the participants.
