Our talented members create pieces of textile art using a range of skills and techniques, including hand embroidery and cross stitch, machine and hand sewing and quilting. Examples from recent years include: wet-felted bowls, hand-dyed fabrics, needle felted landscapes, festive decorations and medieval embroideries.
Some of the work is a result of workshops delivered by local textile artists, but much of it comes from the creativity of our members. We encourage members to bring their own projects to meetings and to share their skills to support and inspire each other.
Based in Pateley Bridge, our group provides a friendly and welcoming environment for all members and visitors to meet, learn and stitch together. The Nidderdale Stitchers are a diverse group of members, ranging from complete beginners in embroidery to highly skilled stitchers and quilters.
We meet on the first Saturday of the month, 1pm – 4pm, at Pateley Bridge Methodist Church to share our love of embroidery, sewing, cross stitch and other textile crafts. Throughout the year we enjoy a varied programme of workshops and talks, delivered by both members and outside speakers. We produce a monthly newsletter, with information on local textile events and exhibitions, plus contributions from our members. We would love to welcome new members and visitors, please get in touch if you are interested.
See our Facebook page for new work or come along to one of our monthly meetings.
