Inspiration for Liz’s work comes from the landscapes and environments she experiences. There is always an emphasis on exploring the colour, light, form and layers of landscape and natural forms in her work. Always drawn to the experiences and atmospheres of landscapes and visited spaces, her work evokes a sense of place and season through layers and colour. The works are abstractions of observations, all relating to specific sites and experiences.
Recent work has explored Hackfall Woods and the gardens at Old Sleningford Hall.
Liz is a fine artist, specialising in painting, drawing and mixed media works. Following a long and happy teaching career, both in the UK and internationally, Liz is now settled in North Yorkshire , where she has a teaching studio in which to work and share her practice.
Liz runs regular workshops and classes from her studio and in the surrounding area.
