Gill’s chief passion is the flora and landscape of the Dales, especially wild flowers in hay meadows and hedges, and iconic drystone walls and field barns. She likes to draw from real life, including perennials in her garden, fresh cut flowers and birds, including the endangered curlew.
As well as painting in acrylics and mixed of media, Gill also produces prints around central motifs in a variety of methods including etchings, collograph, monoprint and screen printing.
Gill also enhances textiles with machine embroidery and hand stitching, incorporating flowers and birds.
