My pots are mostly thrown and fired to 1260 degrees C. though I do a range of slab built lasagna dishes , made to fit a sheet/s of lasagna .
Over the last few years I have enjoyed making more sculptural pieces. Using studies of natural objects ( I am an incurable beach comber), I develop the drawings into working plans that can be used to produce a form that is hopefully pleasing and thought provoking . I find this process exciting, drawing as I work to alter and assemble mostly thrown pieces to achieve the final form.
My glazes continue to evolve, I use them over a variety of slips and clay bodies or one glaze on top of another. New combinations go into every firing.

I started potting in the mid eighties. Using mostly stoneware clay my motivation has always been to make pots to use, probably fuelled by my love of cooking. I used both gas and electric kilns and built up a solid client base over the years. Now retired, I work at a more relaxed pace from a building in our beautiful garden enjoying views, on a clear day, to the Hambleton Hills.
