Jeanne’s work is diverse. Studio work often involves still life, and many focus on painting glass objects which can be challenging. Recent paintings have been on birch board, which is a particularly interesting surface when prepared with Gesso. She explores the effect of paint on different surfaces according to the chosen subject. Attending a regular life class with a number of different life models has also had an impact on her work and figurative drawing.
Jeanne Mundy has worked seriously as an artist for the past fifteen years having studied A level art and subsequently ceramics at college. Jeanne specialises in acrylic and mixed media painting, watercolour, drawing and illustration, frequently demonstrating and/or teaching at workshops. With her studio situated on farmland, she is inspired by the surrounding Nidderdale countryside, working outside whenever possible. Using a range of techniques, Jeanne is an impressionist/expressionist artist, interested in developing abstraction and experimenting with different materials. She exhibits regularly, and sells locally. Her studio is open to visitors by appointment and is often used for small group workshops. Jeanne Mundy, Artist and Illustrator www.jeanneart.co.uk
