My work

About

After a career teaching Art, I now enjoy having the time to do my own work. I paint in many different media: acrylics, oil, watercolour, gouache and pen and ink. My work is both representational, and semi abstract, where I utilise my training in graphics. The subjects that most inspire me are structural forms. I love working from buildings of all sorts, railway stations, boats, plants and even something as simple as a fence.
I am lucky to live in beautiful countryside in Nidderdale, surrounded by trees, with the Fell Beck running alongside our house. Trees, rocks and water are very inspiring. I enjoy intaglio printing and have my own press. I particularly like collagraph and drypoint.
