Henshaws is a charity supporting people living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities. Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre offer workshops in printmaking, pottery, paper making and papier mache sculpture, jewellery, mosaic, woodwork, performing arts, music, horticulture and multi sensory. The aim of the workshops is to provide a safe, supportive, diverse and creative space which is accessible to all. We cater for many levels of skill and understanding and work with individuals to develop their personal practice and skills enabling creative expression, independence and a sense of self. Work is based upon personal interests, themes and any subsequent exhibitions or installations. The art makers have exhibited at Sunny Bank Mills Leeds, Hartclub London, Mercer Gallery Harrogate and Rural Arts in Thirsk.
