About

Yorkshire born and bred retailer and art-lover, Gill Gray, recently moved to Nidderdale and became entranced by the natural beauty of its stunning broadleaved woodlands. The amazing range of soft natural colours of our own indigenous Nidderdale timber as well as the beautiful shapes formed by our locally grown trees inspired her to form ‘Bud and Bark’ – a workshop and outlet to celebrate and enjoy the artistic beauty of the wood which surrounds us all.

Gill’s artistic vision is to use local wood which is sustainably sourced and managed to created art and gifts both inspired by nature and unique to the Dale.

Gill creates arrangements, bouquets, gifts, wedding and party decorations, corsages and ‘favours’ using long lasting wooden, natural and floral elements many of which are sourced from Fishpond Wood, Bewerley. These are of her own design or can be commissioned and / or worked on together in the workshop to a particular colour scheme.
Customers can therefore take away or create the perfect gift, home decoration or memento of this area.

Gill is looking forward to welcoming you to ‘Bud and Bark’
