About my work
Recent work from a series completed in Weston (Lower Wharfedale). This is a series of prints (drypoints and etchings) which explore the Tudor/Elizabethan aspects of the Hall, Park and Gardens. This work ranges across detailed linear studies as well as gestural, colourful free-hand oil pastels. Known for teaching most recently at Bradford School of Art, print workshops and exhibiting widely, including a successful show in the south of France (‘Saving the Bay, Beaulieu-sur-Mer) 2017. Currently focussing on aspects of landscape in Wharfedale and Lothersdale.
Initially trained as an apprenticed graphic designer and typographer. Following graduate and post-graduate education (N.E.London Poly. + St Martin’s College of Art) working as Print Technician University of Wales, Aberystwyth, Nottingham Trent. Lecturing in Print and Typography: Bournville College of Art, Limerick College of Art, Bradford School of Art. During these years also free-lance design, exhibiting widely. Running many workshop courses including Ilkley Arts. Published book ‘Colonsay-Elements of an Island’ 2003 (House of Lochar). Exhibition and workshops in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, 2017/2018.
